Join the NLR Mobile Makerspace at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center's Juneteenth in Da Rock celebration on Saturday, June 20. Take on a hands-on boat engineering challenge inspired by Raye Jean Jordan Montague, Arkansas native and the U.S. Navy's first female Program Manager of Ships. Can you build a clay object that floats the most weight? Free and open to all ages in the Kids Zone.
Join us June 25 at William F. Laman Public Library for Peripheral Souths, a free folk singing workshop with Estonian singer Hanna-Reet Ruul and Arkansas folk singer Jude Brothers. Explore the shared histories of South Estonia and the American South through traditional song, folklore, and storytelling. Open to all ages and all voices. Please note some folk songs address themes of death and grief.
